I’m not expert in tracing family histories, actually I still
consider myself a beginner. I
have doing this off and on since 1998, when my son was born.
Shortly after he was born he was diagnosed with Cystic
Fibrosis,
which is a genetic disease that effects the lungs and digestive systems.
Since this is a genetic disease, I am determined to find out WHO
in my family history had CF. Of course as we all know, back in “those days” people did
not have a diagnosis for CF or many of the other diseases we know of
today. But I can still
search for the family members that had the symptoms of CF then get more
info on them and decide for myself whether this particular family member
might have had it or not. I
have not found anyone who had CF yet, however I did find other inherited
diseases / conditions such as Hypertension, Diabetes, and Cancer that I
find to be helpful, especially when concerning my own health. |

Cyndi's List This is another FREE database that has a lot of information. There are links to information about other countries including passenger lists. There is so much info that you will have to check it out for yourself.
Ancestry.com Ancestry.com is the #1 source for family history. They have a huge database and they are always adding to it. They have quite a bit of information that you can access for FREE. If you want to access ALL of their databases then you will have to buy a subscription.
